Beijing Welcomes You 北京欢迎你

Beijing Olypmpics 2008. You hear that song everywhere. Seriously… all their speakers play them.

The Olympics Spirit rides deep within the hearts of Beijingers. Even many years after the Olympics.

I’d welcome you to Beijing, really.

It’s dumb to take tour buses there. The Metro goes direct and its damn convenient.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Can you imagine me not skating there?

It’s like the perfect terrain, very long straights…

Photobucket Photobucket

Even the roads. They’re empty!

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

I wanted to have a peek of the Water Cube although there really isn’t something special about it.

It’s closed for renovations, anyway.

Photobucket Photobucket

China International Convention Centre.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

It’s really quite cool to see the weaving metallic materials up close. Work of architecture marvel!

Photobucket

Uneven grounds as I approach the Ticketing Booth

Photobucket Photobucket

It’s not worth it to get a ticket when there’s nothing to watch.

Photobucket

Even the small lights are Bird’s-Nest-designed.

Photobucket

The grass is smiling at you. Please detour. Thumbs up

Photobucket Photobucket

Broadcasting the Olympics live around the world.

Photobucket

Oops did they say no skates allowed?

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

The Planning Exhibition. I like how they theme their plain exhibitions.

Photobucket

I’ll guarantee I won’t be able to stop after skating down this.

99% probability of an accident. Ai Mai?

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

The Olympic Village. Nice Chinese themes I’d say.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Decided to give the Science and Technology Museum a skip.

An entrance fee and a few hours there wasn’t on my agenda.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

The various Olympic sculptures and me.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Pretty colourful flowers.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

She’s damn pretty, IMHO.

Photobucket Photobucket

Photogenic place I guess.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

A huge, welcoming sight awaits you at the Olympic Green.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Feeding fishes and boating in Ao Hai. and yes, they purposely mimic it to be the same 奥 as in 奥运会 (Olympics)

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Beautiful Greenery.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

It’s hard to believe it’s entirely man-made.

Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucket

Was disallowed to enter with skates. Did I bother to heed? Nah Smile.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Ponds and buildings.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Tiring walk uphill. Steep and you’ll never the top.

Photobucket Photobucket

< 3 Outdoor lifestyle.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

The Zhao Hua Platform. Disappointed me for a moment.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucket Photobucket

Now this is what I’m talking about!

Photobucket Photobucket

So nice of me to bring JAFIT around yeah?

Photobucket

Happened to catch this two jokers kinda like posing.

(Downhill Braking Video)

Scary shit.

After a tiring climb up, the reward is a steep and fast decline.

Slalom braking… Slow plough’s ineffective. T-brake’s unstable.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

The eco-corridor is pretty cool with this underwater viewing platform.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

I love this French-English-Chinese-Japanese descriptive scroll.

Photobucket Photobucket PhotobucketPhotobucket Photobucket Photobucket

After lotsa experimenting with the self-timer controls.

Slalom FTW!

(Overtaking Slow Vehicle Video)

Lesson Learnt? Never get one of these on ur travels.

Waste of time and money.

Sunset at Ao Hai

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Finally found them after asking around here and there.

They’re pretty good skaters. Well I’ve come to realise that slalomers here are great sliders too!

Unfortunately they aren’t very friendly though. Hard to approach and make friends.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Fun day out. Well I can imagine the hype when the Olympics Spirit is sweeping Beijing…

Seriously, I welcome you to Shanghai Beijing anytime.

It’s an awesome city.
